What Makes Deep Springs Unique

Instead of bypassing local organizations, we develop partnerships with local schools, churches, microfinance institutions, and public health organizations.

Instead of one-time handouts, we partner with Haitians to establish sustainable manufacturing businesses from the ground up that can provide safe drinking water at an affordable price for years to come!

Instead of just giving advice, we empower young people with entrepreneurial skills through a business educational program to earn a living helping their communities.

Ryan and Ruth Entwistle are heading to the impoverished country of Haiti on August 16th.  We are extremely excited  to serve the Lord in this way and would love to share with you what we will be doing.  Read on!

Deep Springs has two program areas providing solutions to long term development problems: Providing clean water affordably to rural Haitian populations through sustainable business and providing small business entrepreneurship education to secondary students to give them skills to start their own business, work in a higher level job, or proceed to university education.  The interplay between these two areas occurs as some students will work in the area of water treatment.

This fall Ryan and Ruth will oversee the launch of the DSI educational program.  In this program, 180 secondary students will learn about both business and health through a dynamic, DSI constructed curriculum.  They will be instructed by their own teachers who will be trained in August to disseminate this valuable knowledge.

This is where you come in.  DSI needs to raise $3,400 to conduct the training sessions which will ensure the students receive a quality, life-improving education.

Your donation will provide:
-A set of curriculum for each of our 27 teachers
-Materials and Funding for Haitian business and health experts to train the teachers
-Food for the entire week for 40 people

We would love for you to participate in the training in a tangible way.
